On June
31, 2024, as a result of the Tourism and Hotel Management School’s
Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department applying to the Tourism Education
Evaluation and Accreditation Board (TURAK), the quality board members
conducted an on-site visit to the department.
During the site visit, nine criteria were considered, and observations regarding
quality
assurance efforts were made. Meetings were held with academic and
administrative staff, industry representatives, and students
from the School
of Tourism and Hotel Management. Additionally, information was gathered regarding the practical training process
in the Gastronomy
and Culinary Arts kitchen.
At the University
Senate Hall, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Vice-Rector Prof. Dr.
Mustafa Eyyuboğlu,
with the participation of University Secretary General Dr. Mustafa Cabir Altıntaş, academic and
administrative staff of the School of Tourism and Hotel Management, faculty
deans, and department heads. During the meeting, the TURAK team members
presented their exit statement, summarizing their observations and findings.
The meeting addressed the importance of
accreditation, highlighting
the strengths
and areas for improvement.
Following the reading of the exit statement,
the meeting was concluded.
